• What is Rooibos?

    Rooibos is made from Aspalathus Linearis a broom-like shrub in the legume family with very thin, green, needle like leaves with blooms of yellow. The plant is used to make a herbal infusion (tisane) called rooibos (pronounced roy-bos) which means red bush in Afrikaans. In some instances you will find it spelled rooibosch (old Dutch) but the pronunciation remains the same. It is also commonly known as bush tea, redbush tea, and red tea.
